The Norton Family

The Norton family has a very long history in the United States.  In fact, some of their ancestors arrived on the Mayflower in 1621.  Dr. Alexander Robert Norton  was the great, great grandfather of my grandmother, Bessie Cone Norton.  He was born in 1812 and married Julia Elizabeth Green.  Julia's 5th great grandfather was John Howland who came over on the Mayflower.  John married Elizabeth Tilley who also came over on the Mayflower with her father, John Tilley and step mother, Bridget Vandevelde.  So all the descendants of Alexander Robert and Julia Elizabeth Norton are descended from the three Mayflower passengers.  See how Bessie is related to the Mayflower passengers and separately to Tom Selleck.
