 The Nortons have a very colorful history with many family stories and hand written family letters. They are descended from 3 people who arrived on the Mayflower and Mary Dick Harrison pictured seated here is supposed to be part Native American. There are at least 8 ancestors identified as having served in the Revolutionary War and 2 in the Civil War including Alexander Calhoun Norton shown seated here. The Nortons are also related to the actor, Tom Selleck and separately through the Mayflow ancestors are related to a number of famous people including Franklin D Roosevelt and Winston Churchill. |
 The Fish family are descended from waterman and farmers. We can trace them back to New England and some members to Holland and Germany. We believe the Fish surname comes from England. |
